Ben Wakeling works for the NHS delivering his own expressive arts program for NHS mental health secure units across London. Ben is the founder of Outsider Gallery which exhibits original works of NHS mental health services patients, prisoners and those contained in secure units. Ben’s childhood, early adult life experiences, and bipolar diagnosis inform his work. Creating large-scale expressive, gestural artworks, his eye-catching paintings have an authentic rebellious energy. Ben’s work was included in Delphain Gallery’s group show SHOWSTOPPER at Saatchi Gallery earlier this year.
